TECO-T: ASSESSMENT OF TRANSVERSAL COMPETENCIES

TECO-T assesses general competencies that can be developed during the academic path, and are comparable across universities and study programmes.

• Literacy: comprehension and interpretation of texts.
• Numeracy: solving logical-quantitative problems.
• Problem Solving: ability to deal with complex problems and unfamiliar situations.
• Civics: interpersonal and intercultural competencies related to active citizenship.

TECO-T assessments are administered via a digital platform and are structured as a single 50-minute test.

TECO-D: ASSESSMENT OF DISCIPLINARY COMPETENCIES

TECO-D focuses on the assessment of disciplinary competencies, directly related to the specific contents of students’ academic path. Unlike transversal competencies, these are only comparable across study programmes of a similar nature.
Disciplinary working groups collaborate with ANVUR to:

  1. Define shared core disciplinary contents, structured according to the five Dublin Descriptors.
  2. Design disciplinary tests based on multiple-choice questions.
  3. Involve universities in the project.

TECO-D assessments last 90 minutes and are administered at a later stage compared to transversal tests.

ANVUR provides technical and scientific support to the Working Groups (GdL) through technical sheets for defining core disciplinary content and developing multiple-choice questions.

The Agency also provides technical-scientific support to the GdL for test validation.
