The Agency carries out the following activities:

• Evaluates the quality of processes, outcomes, and products related to the management, education, research, and technology transfer activities of universities and research institutions.
• Defines criteria and methodologies for the periodic accreditation of campuses and study programs, including doctoral, master’s, and specialization courses.
• Guides the evaluation activities of university evaluation boards.
• Develops procedures, in collaboration with evaluation boards, to collect student satisfaction data on courses.
• Proposes to the Minister requirements for establishing, merging, federating, or closing universities, satellite campuses, or study programs.
• Determines reference parameters for state funding allocation, including performance levels and service costs, at the Minister’s request.
• Assesses program agreements based on expected outcomes and predefined criteria to enhance research system quality.
• Evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of public programs for funding education, research, and innovation.
• Conducts additional evaluations and defines standards, parameters, and technical regulations as requested by the Minister.

Requests for sponsorship and/or authorization to use the logo may be submitted to ANVUR by the legal representatives, or their delegates, of public or private entities (e.g., universities, AFAM institutions, associations, foundations, committees) recognized for their institutional, scientific, economic, social, and cultural prestige and that ensure the validity of the proposal.

Only proposals consistent with the Agency’s areas of activity will be considered.
