Data and indicators relating to Italian universities are collected in the University System Dashboard, a tool developed by ANVUR to provide a clear and accessible visualization of key information on the national university system, organized according to various areas of interest.
In accordance with Article 5 of Presidential Decree No. 76/2010, the Agency has gathered available information from university system databases, integrating it with data provided by other institutions active in the field of higher education and research.
The information is presented in graphic format and can be consulted at various levels of aggregation: users can explore data related to individual universities or groups of universities, both in static and dynamic modes. The dynamic mode allows for comparisons across multiple years, thus offering an evolutionary overview over time.
The Dashboard will include a "Reports" function, allowing users to flag any issues identified in the data or indicators.
Thematic areas
The University System Dashboard gathers data and indicators organised into six main dimensions, or thematic areas: Staff, Budget, Teaching, Study programmes, Research, and Doctoral programmes.
Data on teaching staff, researchers, and technical-administrative personnel at universities are available, aggregated by qualification, age, and gender.
In addition to data on state funding to universities, it includes key data and indicators from universities’ final financial statements and indicators of economic and financial sustainability.
Data on enrolments, registered students, graduates, and employment outcomes are available at university level.
At the level of degree class and study programme, data are available on enrolments, student registrations, graduates, and employment outcomes.
Data are available on the results of the Research Quality Evaluation and on the performance of Italian universities as host institutions for European projects (ERC, MSCA) funded under the Framework Programmes.
At the university level, data are available on the educational offer, as well as on the number and characteristics of PhD candidates and PhD holders.
