Initial accreditation of new private AFAM institutions
ANVUR evaluates accreditation requests for new Private institutions and their proposals for the activation of academic diploma programmes. The current regulations do not allow the establishment of new state AFAM institutions.
According to a specific ministerial note, institutions seeking accreditation must submit a technical report accompanied by documentation proving the qualification of the institution, the compliance of its adopted educational system with current AFAM regulations, and the availability of suitable facilities, adequate financial resources, and qualified personnel.
In particular, the evaluation focuses on:
- The size, scientific, teaching, and professional qualifications of the faculty
- The quantitative and qualitative adequacy of the facilities and equipment made available at the new site
- The economic and financial sustainability of the proposal
Accreditation of decentralized branches
The accreditation of decentralized branches of private AFAM institutions follows the same procedures as initial accreditation.
For state institutions, the activation procedures for decentralized branches are defined through a Ministerial Decree, which includes the assessment of the suitability of buildings and equipment, the verification of financial, personnel, and asset resources, and the compliance of services with European standards.
For both state and private institutions, requests for the establishment of decentralized nranches can only be submitted after the first positive periodic assessment of the main campus.
