A total of 65 AFAM PhD programmes were accredited for the 2025/2026 academic year. Of these, 37 are offered by individual institutions, while 28 are jointly organised by multiple institutions under formal agreements, including 2 classified as PhD Programmes of National Interest.
Of the 65 accredited programmes, 23 are coordinated by institutions with their administrative headquarters in Northern Italy, 13 in Central Italy and 29 in Southern Italy and the Islands.
With regard to the type of institution offering the programmes, 40 are affiliated with State Conservatories of Music, 19 with State Academies of Fine Arts, 3 with institutions authorised pursuant to Article 11 of Presidential Decree No. 212/2005, 2 with Higher Institutes for Artistic Industries (ISIA), and 1 with the National Academy of Dramatic Art.
