The 2024/2025 academic year marked the launch of the first cycle of the AFAM PhD programme, made possible also thanks to Recovery Plan (PNRR) funding, which supported a substantial number of scholarships.

The accreditation of AFAM PhD programmes involves the following two phases:

Initial accreditation: consists in the authorisation granted by the Ministry of Universities and Research (MUR), following a favourable opinion by ANVUR based on the verification of a set of requirements.

Periodic assessment: aims to verify the continued fulfilment of the requirements established for the initial accreditation and to assess the effectiveness of the quality assurance system adopted by the Institution, based on the guidelines provided in Ministerial Decree No. 778/2024.

As part of the periodic accreditation process, ANVUR will consider, through a procedure yet to be defined, the results of the monitoring activities carried out by the University's Evaluation Board; if necessary, on-site visits may be conducted by external experts to assess the adequacy of facilities and resources.
