The accreditation of AFAM PhD programmes is valid for a period of five years. On a yearly basis, ANVUR carries out the accreditation of new PhD programmes or verifies the requirements of existing programmes in the following cases:
- Change in the title of the study programme
- Change in the composition of the Academic Board exceeding 25% over a three-year period
- Change of the Programme Coordinator
During the initial accreditation process, ANVUR’s evaluation focuses primarily on the scientific and artistic qualifications of the PhD Academic Board, the training plan, and the services and resources made available to doctoral candidates.
The general regulatory framework is defined in Ministerial Decree no. 470/2024 and the corresponding Guidelines issued through Ministerial Decree no. 778/2024. In addition, MUR has published a number of clarifying FAQs.
