The profiles in the Register of Experts for the initial and periodic evaluation of study programmes, doctoral programmes, and university sites are as follows:

Requirements for System Expert

Requirements (Resolution of the Governing Board No. 200 of 3 August 2023)

I. Possession of at least one of the following requirements:

  1. Holding the position of Full or Associate Professor at an Italian university, or an equivalent position at a foreign university, in service at the application deadline, or retired no more than two years prior to the application date;
  2. Having accrued, since 2017, at least three years (not necessarily consecutive) of experience at Italian or foreign universities, or at foreign Agencies recognized as full members of ENQA or EQAR, or at internationally recognized foreign Agencies or Institutions, through positions of responsibility in the design and/or management and/or monitoring and/or evaluation of Quality Assurance systems for Teaching, Research, and Third Mission/Social Impact at institutional level

II. In addition, possession of at least one of the following requirements accrued from 2017 to the date of application:

  1. At least two years (not necessarily consecutive) of experience as Rector, Vice-Rector, or Rector’s Delegate in areas related to Teaching, Research, Third Mission/Social Impact, and University Quality Assurance; or as President (or equivalent role) of the University Quality Committee (PQA) or the University Evaluation Board (NdV);
  2. At least four years (not necessarily consecutive) of experience as a member of the PQA or NdV;
  3. At least four years (not necessarily consecutive) of experience as President (or equivalent role) of the Joint Committee of Faculty and Students (CPDS);
  4. At least two years (not necessarily consecutive) of experience as Department Director at a University (or equivalent or coordinating structures, under any designation, with functions of coordinating and rationalizing teaching activities);
  5. At least two years (not necessarily consecutive) of experience as a member of an Academic Senate or a Board of Directors at a University, or of a teaching or research committee at university level, or of national academic bodies/boards/conferences;
  6. Experience in at least two Evaluation Expert Commissions (CEV) as System Expert (ANVUR) within initial accreditation procedures of new Universities/Schools of Advanced Studies and/or periodic accreditation of university sites and study programmes carried out by ANVUR;
  7. Experience in at least three evaluation commissions within Quality Assurance evaluation activities of foreign Agencies recognized as full members of ENQA or EQAR, or of internationally recognized foreign Agencies or Institutions, in the context of the evaluation and accreditation of university study programmes or higher education institutions.

III. In addition, a good knowledge is required of:

  1.  the English language;
  2. the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG 2015), including any subsequent revisions;
  3. the relevant Italian regulations concerning the AVA system;
  4. the Italian language (for foreign experts).

IV. Finally, candidates must meet the general requirements for access to public employment.

Requirements for Discipline Expert

Requirements (Resolution of the Governing Board No. 203 of 3 October 2022)

I. Possession of the following requirements:

  1. Being a Full Professor, Associate Professor, or Researcher at Italian or equivalent foreign universities, or a first- or second-level professor at Institutions of Higher Education in the Arts, Music and Dance (AFAM), in service at the deadline for submission of the application, with at least ten years of teaching responsibility for delivered courses, or retired no more than two years before the application date.
    a. For Full Professors or retired candidates: holding a scientific qualification in their disciplinary field sufficient to meet the requirements for participation in the National Scientific Qualification (ASN) Commissions. For Associate Professors and Researchers: meeting the requirements for qualification as Full or Associate Professor, respectively.
    b. For first-level AFAM faculty: having published at least 5 artistic or musical research outputs in the last five years, with nationally recognized artistic/scientific standards (publications – print, audio, audiovisual or multimedia – issued by publishers recognized in the artistic or musical sector). For second-level AFAM faculty: having published at least 2 such outputs in the last five years. In evaluating publications, the relevance of the publishing venue will be considered for articles, and the use of internal or external peer review for monographs.

II. In addition, possession of at least one of the following requirements accrued from 2017 to the application date:

  1. At least two years of experience as head of structures coordinating teaching activities (e.g., Rector, Department Director, Dean, School President or equivalent coordinating structures), as Coordinator of a university Study Programme or a Doctoral Programme, or as a member of one or more of the following bodies: University Evaluation Board (NdV), University Quality Committee (PQA), Joint Committee of Faculty and Students (CPDS), Review Group, or Study Programme-level teaching committees or equivalent bodies
  2. At least two years of experience as a member of one of the following bodies in AFAM institutions: Evaluation Board, Academic Council, or Board of Directors
  3. Proven experience in the context of initial and periodic accreditation procedures of university sites and study programmes carried out by ANVUR in one of the following roles:

       - Participation as Disciplinary Expert in at least two Commissions for the periodic accreditation of sites and study programmes

       - Participation as Disciplinary Expert in the initial accreditation procedures of at least ten Study Programmes

  1. Proven experience in at least three evaluation commissions involved in the quality assurance of study programmes or higher education institutions, conducted by foreign Agencies recognized by ENQA or EQAR or by internationally recognized Agencies or Institutions.

III. A good knowledge of the English language and of the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG 2015) and any subsequent amendments is also required.

IV. Finally, candidates must meet the general requirements for access to public employment.
