L'ANVUR è coinvolta nel progetto AGORRA, un’alleanza internazionale che riunisce enti finanziatori, agenzie di valutazione e ricercatori di 14 Paesi per promuovere una valutazione della ricerca più responsabile e innovativa. L’iniziativa punta a supportare la riforma dei sistemi di valutazione a livello globale, collaborando con iniziative come CoARA e DORA.

Il progetto si articola su tre fronti principali: creare un osservatorio globale sui sistemi di valutazione, analizzare le modifiche nei processi di finanziamento della ricerca e definire la cultura e l’ambiente della ricerca a livello internazionale.

Grazie ad AGORRA, l'ANVUR contribuisce al miglioramento delle pratiche di valutazione della ricerca, favorendo maggiore trasparenza ed efficacia, con un impatto positivo sia a livello nazionale che internazionale.

ANVUR joined the Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment (CoARA) in 2023.
As part of the activities promoted by CoARA, the Agency is actively engaged in a series of projects and initiatives that reflect the goal of rethinking research assessment at national and international level. Through the following areas of intervention, ANVUR consolidates its role in the reform process of research assessment methods, contributing actively to the improvement of the academic and scientific system both nationally and internationally.

• CoARA Boost project
  This is an initiative funded by the European Union, lasting three years (2022–2026), aimed at supporting the global growth of the community committed to reforming research assessment, strengthening collaboration among coalition members, and promoting knowledge exchange and mutual learning within the CoARA network..

• Participation in Thematic Working Groups
  ANVUR is actively involved in several working groups on topics of strategic relevance, including:

  Multilingualism and linguistic bias in research assessment, to reduce language barriers and promote an inclusive approach.
  Reform of academic career assessment, to define fair and transparent criteria for professional advancement.
  Improvement of assessment practices for applications for research project funding, to ensure more efficient and impartial processe.
  Global framework for research assessment in the Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH), with the aim of recognising the specificities and impacts of humanities and social science disciplines.

• National Chapter
  ANVUR participates in the national chapter with the objective of supporting CoARA members in implementing the commitments laid down in the Agreement on Reforming Research Assessment and adapting the Guidelines to national and regional needs and contexts, fostering the harmonisation of assessment practices..

• ANVUR Action Plan
  As a member of CoARA, ANVUR has published a detailed Action Plan for the period 2022–2026, aimed at promoting the advancement of research assessment practices in Italy and supporting the principles of transparency, inclusiveness and innovation, in line with the international commitments of the Agreement on Reforming Research Assessment.

Transnational Higher Education (TNE) is a rapidly expanding reality, offering great opportunities while also posing significant challenges in terms of quality, transparency, and student protection. The European project ROQA-TNE – Robust Quality Assurance of Transnational Education, funded by the Erasmus+ programme and coordinated by ENQA, was established to address these very challenges. ANVUR is participating as a partner alongside QAA (UK) and ACQUIN (DE), with the shared goal of improving the policies and practices of quality assurance for TNE provided by European institutions in non-EHEA countries.

Through a collaborative and action-oriented approach, the project aims to:

• Map the various existing approaches to TNE quality assessment;
• Promote the exchange of experiences between agencies and national authorities;
• Develop a self-assessment tool for quality assurance agencies;
• Elaborate shared guiding principles and policy recommendations.

ROQA-TNE therefore represents a step forward in strengthening mutual trust between educational systems, protecting students, and promoting international academic mobility based on common standards.

L'ANVUR è stato partner associato nei progetti ED-AFFICHE (European Degree – Advancing, Facilitating and Fostering International Collaboration in Higher Education), ED-Lab (European Degree Label Institutional Laboratory) e SMARTT (Screening, Mapping, Analyzing, Recommending, Transferring, and Transforming HE International Programmes), selezionati dall’Unione Europea nell’ambito del bando Erasmus+ EDU-2022-POL-EXP-HE volto allo sviluppo di titolo europeo congiunto e l’uso di strumenti di cooperazione istituzionalizzata a livello UE per le alleanze tra istituti di istruzione superiore.

ANVUR participated in the IMINQA project, aimed at strengthening the effectiveness and alignment of quality practices, fostering cooperation and the exchange of best practices among stakeholders in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).

ANVUR was a partner in the European project REMOTE, dedicated to evaluating and improving distance learning practices in STEM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics). Coordinated by the Universitat de Girona and funded by the Erasmus+ programme, the project took place from 2022 to 2025.

The main objective was to make distance teaching more effective and inclusive by providing tools and Guidelines for teachers, academic institutions, and evaluation agencies. ANVUR contributed to the project by defining quality criteria, analysing data, and promoting among Italian universities the results of the activities developed by the partners.

REMOTE aimed to contribute to the improvement of the distance learning experience, supporting universities in adapting to digital change and ensuring high-quality training for students and teachers.
