How has the national system of higher education and research changed over the past six years? What transformations have affected Universities, AFAM Institutions and Public Research Institutes? And what challenges are emerging for the future?

The ANVUR Report 2026 provides a comprehensive and well-documented overview of the evolution of the system, comparing the period prior to the pandemic with the one immediately following it.

The Report is divided into two volumes:
• The first analyses the sectors evaluated by ANVUR: Universities, AFAM Institutions and Public Research Institutes, with a specific focus on international comparison.
• The second presents eight thematic focus areas addressing the main directions of change:
NRRP, internationalisation of the educational offer, research evaluation, journal classification, teaching evaluation, online universities, gender analysis, right to education.

The event represents an opportunity for in-depth discussion to understand where the Italian system stands today, what changes have taken place, and which challenges must be addressed.
