Prof. Marilena Maniaci has been appointed member of the Board of the Stiftung Akkreditierungsrat — the German Accreditation Council — for the four-year term 2026–2030

  • GOVERNING BOARD
  • INTERNATIONALISATION

The Stiftung Akkreditierungsrat is the public-law foundation that coordinates and safeguards the quality assurance system of higher education in Germany, with the aim of ensuring the quality of teaching and learning at universities and higher education institutions in all German Länder. Its central decision-making body, the Accreditation Council, is responsible for accreditation and reaccreditation decisions concerning Study programmes and higher education institutions.

Within the German framework, authorised accreditation agencies carry out technical evaluations of programmes and institutions, in compliance with the European Standards and Guidelines (ESG), while the German Accreditation Council takes the official accreditation and reaccreditation decisions based on those evaluations.

The appointment of Prof. Maniaci represents an important international recognition and strengthens ANVUR’s presence within the European quality assurance context.
