On 29 May, ANVUR took part in the hearing on Bill no. 989, dedicated to strengthening Gender Medicine within the National Health Service, held at the Senate of the Republic.

On behalf of the Agency, Prof. Alessandra Celletti, Vice President and member of the ANVUR Governing Board, expressed:

"full appreciation for the commitment to promoting and enhancing Gender Medicine within the National Health Service, as well as in the study and research pathways of Medicine and Surgery programmes at Italian universities."

Confirming the Agency’s willingness to contribute further during the legislative process, Prof. Celletti highlighted in her remarks the strategic role of scientific and medical research in the development of Gender Medicine, underlining the importance of regular dialogue with the scientific community, adequate funding, equal female representation in clinical studies, and institutional communication to raise awareness and disseminate knowledge.

The hearing was also an opportunity to recall ANVUR’s analysis on gender distribution within the national academic system, which includes data on faculty, technical-administrative staff, and the student population.
