Initial Accreditation

Initial Accreditation consists in the authorization by the Ministry of University and Research to activate Universities and Study Programmes (three-year and two-year degree programmes, Single cycle master degree programmes) following verification by ANVUR of the possession of teaching requirements, research qualification requirements, structural, organizational and economic-financial sustainability requirements, defined by the legislative framework of reference (Legislative Decree No. 19/2012, Ministerial Decree No. 439/2013, Ministerial Decree No. 6/2019, Ministerial Decree No. 989/2019, Ministerial Decree No. 446 /2020, Ministerial Decree No. 289/2021, Ministerial Decree No. 1154/2021).

New Universities 

ANVUR has defined an operating model for Initial Accreditation which makes use of the consultancy of a Panel of Evaluation Experts (PEV), with the task of proposing an accreditation judgment based on an in-depth examination of the project, taking into account guidelines, procedures and protocols defined by ANVUR itself.
